Pre-Show Hype: Nano Assault

When a game is backed by a development studio like Shin'en, you know it's in very good hands. Published by Majesco, Nano Assault has players getting through hordes of enemies in this promising shooter set in a microscopic virus-infested world. Majesco's CEO had some positive things to say about the game in the announcement PR, commenting that it features a “fresh approach to the classic shooter" and that it is going to "surprise a lot of people". Based on the screenshots I've seen so far and the reputation Shin'en has created for themselves, I'm not so quick to pass this off as mere "PR hype".

I'm really eager to hear about how other game journalists feel about the game while it's displayed at Majesco's booth. Hopefully we'll get wind of a trailer or some camera footage, too. Aside from the "stunning 3D graphics", I'm a bit intrigued to find out more about the proposed StreetPass function. Apparently, players will be able to trade items with others who own the game. It seems like the element of trading is becoming a popular concept with upcoming 3DS titles, but I want to know if there's more to it than that. I guess we'll find out this week.

But seriously, the game is looking really good. Nano Assault is definitely one of my most anticipated titles right now.
