My reasoning on the matter takes into account the fact that whatever the next title ends up being, chances are it'll be coming to the 3DS. Ubisoft already released Rabbids: Travel in Time 3D for this platform, and since that was more of an extension of the Wii version than a totally new concept, the argument could be made that a new platformer would do the Rabbids well. But when I look back on the experience I had with that platformer and compare it to the time I had with Raving Rabbids TV Party and the original Rayman Raving Rabbids, I didn't have nearly as much fun.
Given the new opportunities this platform presents, and the fact that mini-game collections haven't overstayed their welcome on the 3DS (unlike the Wii), it only stands to reason that a new title of this nature would probably be their best bet right now. One of the issues I had with Travel in Time 3D was that it lacked the humor that had made this IP so successful, and I feel that returning to that style of random mannerisms and senseless activities seen in their debut title would do much to bring the Rabbids back to their original state.
I'll definitely be listening intently for Ubisoft to bring up the Rabbids during their press conference, and hopefully whatever they end up announcing will be exciting nevertheless.
