To be sure, it will be great to see blocks come out of the screen, but I'm more interested in the interesting slant they have going on with the layouts. I think this could create a different dynamic altogether! Or it could backfire and be too awkward for the eyes to handle. Time will tell.
From the Tetris Party release, I loved Field Climber since it offered a completely different way of playing. So I'm hoping this new game will feature a mode that's about the same level of fun. Stage Racer was good too, and screenshots have already confirmed this will be returning in Tetris 3DS. But as for what else they could include, I'm a little uncertain at the moment. I do know, though, that if they were to use the gyroscopic controls, it might not turn out to be a good decision. I really don't think hardcore Tetris players will approve of these sorts of gimmicks, even if it was just in one or two modes. Either way, I look forward to hearing more about what specific modes this new Tetris will have this week, especially in comparison to Tetris DS -- a game that so many love.
Keep an eye out for news on this game at some point during E3 as it's already been confirmed that the game will be on display at Nintendo's booth. It's also been stated that the game will no longer be referred to as "Tetris Axis" moving forward, so expect to get a final name this week also.
