Pre-Show Hype: The Hidden

What's most interesting about The Hidden is not the feature list, but the lack of screenshots. With very little to go on, I can't deny that I'm a little curious to see what the game looks like. Developed by 1st Playable Productions, The Hidden sounds like it could carry a modest amount of potential but we'll have to wait and see something more concrete before that call can be made.

Apparently, you'll encounter "fast-moving Kamikazes and Tanks" which sounds a bit intriguing for a game that seems to focus on the capturing of evil spirits. And, I might add, all in the name of the "G.E.I.S.T Squad" which definitely isn't the most unique name they could have come up with. In addition to the obvious uses of the 3DS Camera and the system's gyroscopic controls, there is also a tease of Wi-Fi incorporation. More than likely this simply means the game makes use of StreetPass, but I can't say for sure.

Given that Majesco has kept details about this game under wraps, I have no idea what to expect from this. We could either see some realistic ghastly apparitions, or just some cheap cartoony sprites. Given that these are the same people that developed Yogi Bear DS, you could say there is reason to believe it's more likely that we'll be seeing the latter. But hopefully they prove me wrong. Perhaps the game will turn out to be a strong rival to Nnooo's Spirit Hunters, or maybe the game won't even measure up by comparison. Hopefully we'll obtain some visual assets to look at this week.
