Go! Go! Kokopolo 3D - Exclusive Boss Reveal

Now that more and more are seeing the eShop to be a worthwhile platform to invest in, it looks like some of DSiWare's star performers want to get a piece of that action. We saw an example of this just recently with the likes of
Rising Board 3D from odenis studio, and we've also heard that Qubic Games is developing a new iteration to continue their most successful project, AiRace. But there is another IP that's been confirmed to be making its own return in a big way, and that's Go! Go! Kokopolo.

Just to refresh your memory: Go! Go! Kokopolo was that fun take on the cat-and-mouse formula that moved itself forward by use of a well-paced linking mechanism. Happily, those escapades will be resuming once more in the form of a full-fledged sequel known, in full, as Go! Go! Kokopolo 3D - Space Recipe for Disaster. The follow-up was confirmed to be in development as of a couple months back, but just in case you missed the memo, here's the rundown of the plot:

The sequel once again revolves around restoring peace to Kokopolo's world, but after the events of the first game, it appears as though commitment to that task is no longer priority, on account of the fact that peaceful conditions have already taken effect. Disruptively setting this game's events in motion is a space inhabitant who goes by the name of Mikosuki. While returning home on his spacebike -- no doubt from a patrol of some kind -- he is thrown for a loop when a meteorite unexpectedly knocks his ship, shattering the tablet he had in his possession and causing the separated pieces to land -- you guessed it -- straight in Kokopolo's neighbourhood. This time, however, it's not only him and his sidekick, Tatsumo. The two are joined by Jinbe (one of the bosses from the original) in a quest to see who can be the first to retrieve the tablet's shards and put it back together, with the reward of eternal life on the line.

You may recall that we interviewed Keith Webb of Tanukii Studios last summer to get some rich details on the original game as it was nearing release. Well, now Keith has kindly shared with us a piece of exclusive artwork to introduce one of the bosses we can all expect to do battle with in the sequel. Going by the name Cactusk, here's a blurb on the figure to accompany the illustration below:

The moonlit amusement park NEON CARNIVAL is fraught with dangers when the moon rises high in the sky. CACTUSK is on hand to ensure everything runs smoothly. If anyone interrupts his task then they will likely feel the sharp end of his tusks!

Sharp, indeed. Cactusk is one among ten new bosses created just for the sequel, and these follow the 80 brand-new level designs. Hopefully this jump to a more returned-to platform will result in an increase in attention for what has now become a series. We're told that the game is currently slated for a release date of Early 2013, so be sure to stay tuned to Wiiloveit.com in the meantime for more coverage on Go! Go! Kokopolo 3D.
