WiiWare has nearly 250 titles released to date and yet, there are still some genres that still haven't been well-represented on the service. RPG's are definitely the leader in that department. But what do you think would come after that? If not Racing games, then likely the Tower Defense genre, represented by only a handful of games. Well, you'll be happy to know that there's a developer out there who's taken notice of this, and has effectively been working on an exclusive TD game for the WiiWare service. Once again, the team here at Wiiloveit has been privileged enough to obtain yet another exclusive for our readers. Yes, it's my pleasure to reveal Cosmonaut Games' next title to you today.
INKUB, a tower defense game where you need to defend an incubator from attacks of ferocious enemies. Your incubator contains an organism that's growing steadily, and it's your job to protect it from anything that would seriously hinder the growth process. Taking the role of what we can only imagine to be a parental figure, you'll place various weapons inside the plasma tubes connected to the incubator to stop these enemies from breaching your defenses.
Both weapons and enemies will be unique in their abilities, dominating in such categories as speed, damage resistance, and range. Little by little, you'll be able to use regenerating energy fragments to upgrade your traps, and as you progress to new rounds in the game, you'll unlock new weapons to use.
The action will make use of an "innovative play system" where players will make use of the Wii Remote to rotate the perspective of the level to access the different tubes. Since there's multiple passageways that enemies can creep into, you'll really need to have a sharp eye to stay alert to everything that's going on.
INKUB will feature 3 difficulty levels for a range of audiences, along with multiple profiles so you can share the experience with friends and family. The standard Adventure Mode is split up into 5 different worlds, consisting of multiple rounds of enemies to fend off. Survival Mode will act like an Endless Mode where each action-based wave gets more and more tough as time goes on. The game will feature a complete soundtrack performed by El Topo Negro, the same group that was responsible for the music in Dive: The Medes Islands Secret. We'll have additional information to share on this upcoming release in the very near future.
