DLC Suggestions for Just Dance 2

11th October 2010; By KnucklesSonic8

When I heard that Just Dance 2 would include DLC, I was really excited. The prospect of seeing new content for this game truly does sound promising. So long as it doesn't pull off a Samba de Amigo by only releasing a few songs, this could be a very successful endeavour. And with the game releasing tomorrow, now's a perfect time to give thoughts to this.

Now, it was stated that in addition to adding new songs, they would add some of the best tracks from the original game. I think this is a great idea for those who didn't give the original a go. So, to start with, I'm going to list the tracks which, I felt, were the best parts of the whole song list.

Best of Just Dance 1
Acceptable in the 80's - Calvin Harris
Love this song. I wouldn't even hesitate to download this song.

Can't Get You Out of My Head - Kylie Minogue
Great song choice, and I can definitely see it coming back.

DARE - Gorillaz
I love this song. Need I say more?

Eye of the Tiger - Survivor
While I am personally not a fan of this song at all, a ton of people love this song.

Jerk It Out - Caesars
A pretty good pick I wouldn't mind seeing again.

Jin Go Lo Ba - Fatboy Slim
Well, the dance routine for this was a little weird, but the song itself is a great pick. Would love to play it in JD2.

Pump up the Jam - Technotronic
I know I would be pretty disappointed if they didn't include it in the selection.

Hot 'n Cold - Katy Perry
Definitely one of the best songs in the game simply because it does a good job at encapturing what Just Dance was all about. That and Ubisoft advertised this song a lot.

U Can't Touch This - MC Hammer
C'mon, you can't say no to MC Hammer, can you? To be fair, if they don't include this, I won't be terribly disappointed. But from the standpoint of considering all the best songs in the original game, I think this was a highlight.

So now, here's a whole slew of suggestions for new songs they could think of adding. Hopefully the developers will take a look at this list and see a few they could work with!

New Song Suggestions
Dynamite / Break Your Heart - Taio Cruz
Choosing either song would be fantastic. I can already envision a great routine for both songs.

Beautiful Monster - Ne-Yo
I would love to see Ne-Yo represented in the game period, and I think that besides Closer, Beautiful Monster carries the most potential in fitting with the other songs in the collection.

Ladies Night - Kool and the Gang
Can easily see this song in the game.

It's My Life - No Doubt
Once again, I can picture this working with tailored routine.

Make Me / All Nite (Don't Stop) - Janet Jackson
I'm a big fan of these two songs (especially the former), so to see her work represented in the game would be great. Out of the two, I think the former would work really, really well.

Make My Heart - Toni Braxton
Seeing this song included would be just brilliant, even if I think the chances are slim.

Pon de Floor - Major Lazer
They'd need to trim the length, but I can still see this song working really well. Almost reminds me of Jin Go Lo Ba.

Dead End Countdown - The New Cities
Not entirely convinced this would work as well as some of the others on this list, but I think it's still worth mentioning.

80's Baby - Karl Wolf
Love this song, and I definitely think it would fit in well with some of the other songs. Just to be clear, I'm referring to the video version (as opposed to the alternate album version) in this case.

1999 - Prince
For some reason, I can picture this song fitting in.

Say It Right - Nelly Furtado
Definitely would carry a lot of appeal in this game. Would be a great pick.

Don't Stop the Music / Umbrella - Rihanna
I feel the former is a better song choice than S.O.S, so why not include it as DLC? And I'm sure the latter would just get lots of love.

Daft Punk Is Playing At My House - LCD Soundsystem
Could be a great fit, I think. I love the song and could easily see a routine that would get players really involved.

Move On Up - Curtis Mayfield
Could definitely see this song working well.

Don't Stop 'Till You Get Enough / Shake Your Body (Down to the Ground) - Michael Jackson
I don't really care if they're also developing the MJE game. I would still love to see at least one of his songs in JD2.

Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger / One More Time - Daft Punk
Would thrill me to see Daft Punk in the game, and I think either of these would work well.

Pjanoo / Call on Me - Eric Prydz
Great house songs that could work well with a good routine.

Got to Be Real - Cheryl Lynn
Classic, classic song. Another one that would be a natural fit.

The Sweet Escape - Gwen Stefani (ft. Akon)
I think this would be a really good pick amongst the other chart-topping songs in the collection.

Feel Good Inc. - Gorillaz
I'm not totally certain if this would work, but I just thought I'd mention it anyway just because DARE was in the original.

Get Right / Louboutins - Jennifer Lopez
Even if this might not make the best choice, I think it would be a great move to bring in one of her songs.

Funkytown - Lipps Inc.
Considering some of the songs they've already included were previously in the Rayman Raving Rabbids games as covers, it almost stands to reason that this be included as well.

Just Dance / Starstruck - Lady GaGa
Having a GaGa song in the game is practically a given. In fact, I'm surprised it hasn't already been done in either game. I just hope they don't pick Bad Romance...

Bust A Move - Young MC
They'd have to do an edit or two, but I would love it if they brought this song in.

Rhythm of the Night - Corona
Another great classic that could work nicely.

You Spin Me 'Round - Dead or Alive
I would like to see this included just to see how they'd handle the routine for this.

Disco Inferno - The Trammps
Burn, baby, burn! Yet another natural fit.

Everybody Dance / Good Times - Chic
Either song would be great to see, but I'm more inclined towards the latter simply because of how much I love the song.

Ridin' Solo - Jason Derulo
Very catchy song that has become quite a hit (albeit, to a lesser extent now). Might be a nice fit.

Fire Burning - Sean Kingston
Can definitely see this working if they can get the choreography done right.

Rhythm is a Dancer - Snap
The song itself is great, and since they're already including a song by Snap in the game, I don't think it'll be too big of a hassle to bring this in as well.

With Love - Hilary Duff
With a really active routine, this could be another great pick.

Meet Me Halfway - Black Eyed Peas
One of their best songs, IMO, that met with its share of success. Would definitely be a good choice.

Praise You - Fatboy Slim
If they're including Rockafeller Skank, why not also add Praise You, also by FS. It's one of his most well-known songs.

Full Moon - Brandy
I would be so ecstatic is they brought in Brandy, since I'm such a big fan of her music. Out of all her songs, I felt Full Moon would make the most sense.

You Can't Hurry Love - Diana Ross / The Supremes
Talk about a classic single. I personally prefer the Phil Collins version, but in this scenario, the original would be appropriate.

Turn the Beat Around - Gloria Estefan
I'm not a fan of this song but I can actually seeing this work well amongst the other oldies.

Red Alert - Basement Jaxx
I'm really, really bent on seeing this in the game. I strongly feel that this is an awesome song that would work great in this game. Would love to see it included.

Blue (Da Ba Dee) - Eiffel 65
Even if the song itself is non-sensical, I think this could work very well with a great routine.

September / Boogie Wonderland - Earth, Wind & Fire
To me, the former is an obvious pick that I know would appeal to lots of people, myself included. Boogie Wonderland would be a great choice as well.

Little L - Jamiroquai
I was really happy to see that Jamiroquai would be represented with Cosmic Girl. I'm proposing another song from them be added, and this would be a nice choice.

Million Dollar Bill / I Wanna Dance with Somebody - Whitney Houston
Either one of these songs would be excellent picks. But to be honest, if all they could do was a cover instead of the original thing, I'm not sure I'd be okay with that.

Everybody Dance Now (Gonna Make You Sweat) - C+C Factory
Very recognizable song that could very well be a hit.

Feel Together - Ben Macklin (ft. Tiger Lily)
After the disappointing cover in DDR Hottest Party 2, I would love to see the original of this great song in JD2.

I'm sure you have your own song suggestions for things you might like to see. So whether you agree with anything on my list or not, I encourage you to express your own thoughts on JD's Facebook page. Overall, I'm really curious to see how all this DLC business will play out. It was claimed that they would be using WiiWare/the Wii Shop Channel to distribute the DLC, so we'll have to wait and see how that works out. It would be interesting to see how they approach the routines for the older songs. Will it be a copy-and-paste deal or will they have new routines (especially for ones that some may have had trouble with)? Hopefully Ubisoft will also decide on a reasonable price tag as well that encourages people to download this new content. However they approach it, as a big fan of music games, I must say I'm really looking forward to seeing how Just Dance 2 turns out!
