Gameloft's Earthworm Jim WiiWare project confirmed to be a remake

Since Gameloft announced the other day that they will be bringing Earthworm Jim to current venues of digital distribution, many got excited, wondering what this meant for the game -- would the game be a sequel? a remake? or a completely new game? 

It's just been cleared up that the game is, indeed, going to be a remake of the original game. Whether or not you fancy that is up to you but given the large amount of retro titles that have surfaced lately, I say it's more than welcomed!
