I'm happy to report that Amazon has just updated their page for the game with a brand-spanking new boxart, which completely replaces the older boxart with some vibrant new artwork. Just some quick observations on this new boxart. The contrast of the logo against the main background hues works rather well if you ask me. The purples might be a tad overbearing for some but I think they handled it pretty well. I like the effect they have going on here. I feel like the overall look combines some elements of the boxarts for HP1 and HP2 (particularly when it comes to colours). Interestingly, this is exactly what the gameplay will do as well whilst also adding some brand new gameplay elements. The usage of the Wii Remotes and Nunchuks looks a lot more like how I envisioned it: a bit more glamorous, and it seems to capture some of the enjoyment of hand markers rather well. It's also great to finally have a guy on the boxart and being featured in a good stance, too. HP1's boxart featured three ladies, HP2 featured one lady with 2 silhouettes in the background. This definitely stands out more than the boxarts for the other games. I love the subtle incorporation of the Balance Board on the far right. Admittedly, I didn't notice it at first and only noticed it after a second look but it's still well placed nonetheless. The Balance Board logo is well-placed as well and doesn't detract from the overall boxart. It's too bad a Wi-Fi logo is no where to be seen meaning that the game won't be featuring online of any sort which is a tad disheartening but I'm more than willing to forgive them with the amount of content and work they've bumped into this release. It's probably finalized, now, that the Wii version won't be getting DLC like the 360/PS3 versions which is a shame -- hopefully they'll look into it for the future. ![]() I find it interesting the way that on the HP3 Boxart, the panels on the mat for the front dancer has some lighting effects and on the boxart for DDRX2, those same panels have a blue glow. Don't know why they decided to change it up like that but it's not that big of a deal. I'm actually looking forward to seeing the setup of the back of the box as that could very well be an even stronger selling point but overall, I think they did a good job with the boxart and it looks better than the placeholder boxart they originally had (shown on the left). Only one month left till this baby gets released! We can definitely expect Konami will show off Hottest Party 3 in the coming weeks leading up to its release. |
