ESRB Ratings: Chronos Twins DX, Crash 'N The Boyz: Street Challenge

posted 3 Sep 2009 08:12 by Knuckles Sonic8
Chronos Twins DX was rated by the ESRB a couple days ago but it wasn't equipped with a summary. Now that summary has surfaced, providing us with more details on the game. The game's been rated Everyone 10+ for "Animated Blood" and "Mild Fantasy Violence". The summary explains:
  • "This is a side-scrolling action adventure game in which players assume the role of an alien hero that battles to save the world and avenge the death of a brother. Players travel through time, traverse fantastical platform environments, and destroy enemy creatures by using a laser weapon. While the laser fire is blue and bigger than the gun, it can cause enemies to explode and sometimes emit a green fluid-like substance. Still-frame panels (i.e., cutscenes) contain an image of a giant creature destroying inhabitants of a planet, depictions of characters perishing, and a reference the destruction of an entire civilization (e.g., "Inhabitants of Skyla tried to defend themselves...But all efforts were in vain.")."
Sounds like a cool game, huh?

Also, here's a piece of news you might not have been expecting! An NES Game known as Crash 'N The Boyz: Street Challenge will be heading to our Virtual Console thanks to Aksys Games! The game's rated Everyone for "Cartoon Violence".
  • "This is a collection of sports mini-games in which players control small, stubby characters that compete in hurdles, swimming, pole-vaulting, and judo events. During the swimming event, players can dunk their opponents underwater and smack them; the judo event contains some "over-the-top" kicking and body-slam animations. Characters' eyes swell up in a "cartoony" manner when they are attacked during the competitions."
This definitely sounds like a good fit on the VC amongst other games with this sports theme but it's undeniable that this news was not expected at all. Could we see this game on Labor Day? Either way, it's great to see us getting another NES Game. We haven't had one since February and there's still quite a few that people are requesting.
