In two different slices of DS news, it seems that Capcom have a new Okami game in the works for the DSi. No news on whether it is a remake or a completely new game, but hopefully it will sell better than it did on both the PS2 and Wii, especially with the inevitably improved painting control scheme. The game was unveiled in Japanese gaming magazine Famitsu (despite Japanese users not yet had the chance to play the Wii version of the game), yet all we've seen so far is the scan below (courtesy of one of the readers on true-gaming.net). What we can say at this point is that the game already looks stunning, and could quite easily fit the DS console even better than the game fit the Wii. Judging by the info on the above scan, it appears the game is headed to the DS next year, not the DSi, which Nintendo claim will start having retail releases of its own this fall. The announcement gave details on the upcoming games, which will have white boxes and cartridges and will distinctly inform customers on the box art that the games will not play on older DS systems. This is because the games designed for DSi only will make use of the extra processing power and RAM that the system has to allow you to play games that require more advanced technology... or they might just want some photographs with the camera. No games have been revealed yet, causing gamers to speculate that Nintendo might be leaving third parties to develop the first games that use this function, kinda like they did with Wii MotionPlus, but we'll just have to wait and see. |
