I can understand why maybe these were scrapped. Fishing was done in Wii Play but honestly, so many areas on the resort could've worked well for a Fishing area and with Wii Motion Plus, it could've been a great showcase for future fishing titles so it's too bad it wasn't pursued further. As for the water slide, that sounds really fun but if you're heading down a set path, I don't think the accuracy of the device would be shown off as much and I'm sure they considered this when they decided to take it out.
